Have your children make their own beads out of jewellery clay to make necklaces, bracelets and a lovely headband. Shape the jewellery clay using different techniques and bake the beads in the oven. After the beads have cooled, the children can start creating unique and colourful jewellery.

How to do it
1 Knead the jewellery clay for 4–5 minutes.
2 Roll the clay into a long thin sausage shape.
3 Place two 'sausages' on top of each other and twist together.
4 Roll the 'sausages' until smooth.
5 Divide into small pieces and make lollipop beads by twisting the different pieces into the shape of a snail shell.
6 Make holes in the beads using the piercing tool.
7 Choose different colours of jewellery clay and knead again for 4–5 minutes.
8 Roll the clay into long thin sausage shapes in different colours and place them next to each other.
9 Mix the 'sausages' together.
10 Continue mixing to create a marbling effect.
11 Twist the 'sausages' again to enhance the marbling effect.
12 Double the 'sausage' and twist again.
13 Divide into lots of small pieces and roll them into small beads.
14 Make holes in the beads using the piercing tool.
15 Knead a new piece of jewellery clay for 4–5 minutes.
16 Roll the clay flat like a pancake. Use plastic or a similar surface underneath.
17 Use the star cutters to make star-shaped beads.
18 Make holes in the stars with the piercing tool.
19 Knead two pieces of jewellery clay for 4–5 minutes. Roll the two pieces into a flat shape and place on top of each other.
20 Use the cutters to make beads in the double clay layer.
21 Make holes in the beads with the piercing tool.
22 Knead a new piece of jewellery clay for 4–5 minutes. Roll the clay into small balls.
23 Use the roller to flatten the balls.
24 Continue until all balls are flat.
25 Make holes in the beads with the piercing tool.
26 Preheat the oven for 10 minutes. Bake the beads at 120 degrees for 18 minutes and then allow to cool.
27 Cut a piece of tape and attach it to the headband.
28 Remove the outer layer of the tape and decorate the headband with different beads.
29 Seal everything with glue once you have finished decorating with beads.
30 Thread a beading needle with elastic cord and make unique necklaces and bracelets with the many different beads. Finish with a knot and cut off the excess elastic cord.
