How to do it
Place a piece of A4 watercolour paper on a masonite board with a bit of adhesive tape in each corner.
Paint with watercolor paints, preferably diluted with water, and allow the paper to dry thoroughly (paint all the way to the edges).
Find a portrait image and copy it slightly smaller than A4 size.
Apply an even, thick layer of oil pastel to the back of the portrait.
Attach the portrait on top of the painted watercolour paper with the oil pastel side facing the watercolour paper.
Now draw the portrait with a ballpoint pen so that the lines are transferred onto the A4 watercolour paper via the oil pastels on the back.
Finish with a card frame. Attach this onto the back of the portrait with masking tape.
Attach the watercolour paper with adhesive tape so you can paint all the way to the edges.
Make the portrait slightly smaller than A4, as the frame will otherwise cover the actual portrait.
