Easter Decorations made from Patterned Felt

1. Cut out the shape from felt using the template. Cut them out in pairs, innerside against innerside, so the pieces are uniform and easier to sew together.

2. Cut a piece of felt in a contrasting pattern and sew it onto the front of the figure with a piece of lace border. Then proceed to trim the edges.

3. Sew on a button for decoration and the wooden beads for eyes.

4. Sew the front and the back of the figure together with mercerised cotton yarn using button hole stitches. Leave a small hole.

5. Fill the figure lightly with polyester stuffing before sewing the hole together.

6. Make a tail from a bit of scrunched up polyester stuffing. Sew it onto the back of the figure.

7. Sew on a bead for the snout and make whiskers from white mercerised cotton yarn.

8. Attach the figure onto a metal bar with a stand using a small amount of glue.

9. Attach a piece of string for hanging onto the small figure.

10. Decorate the string for hanging with a couple of wooden beads.

11. Cut a flower from felt using the template and sew it together using the same procedure as described previously. Then use a needle and thread to sew through the middle of the flower. Make petals by feeding the needle and thread over the edge of the flower and onto the back of the flower and up though the same hole on the front.

12 Tighten and repeat this process for all six petals. Decorate the flower by attaching a button in the middle.
