Branding with a Pyrography Tool

Wooden products take on a rustic look when branded with a pyrography tool on the wooden surface. If you wish to add colour we recommend Plus Color craft paint diluted with water, so that the branded lines are visible.

How to do it

Before you start branding it may be worthwhile drawing your chosen design lightly onto the wooden surface. If the pencil line is still visible after branding, you may rub it out.

Brand with the tip of the pyrography tool by gently pushing the tip onto the wooden surface. We stock thin and thick tips, both of which add a different look. When the pyrography tool is switched on, it should always be placed in the supplied holder when not in use.

If you wish to add colour after branding, we recommend Plus Color craft paint (diluted with water, so that the branded lines are visible) which does not smudge when dry. If you use, for example, watercolours or liquid watercolours, you will need to varnish the surface afterwards.
