Beeswax
More Information
Pure, natural beeswax. The beeswax contains no pesticides or additives. The beeswax is used, for example, to make reusable food wraps from fabric and other items that come into contact with food.
The beeswax can be cut or grated with a grater if you only want to use a smaller quantity. Melt in a water bath or microwave or place between two sheets greaseproof paper and heat with an iron. Note that the natural colour of the beeswax will give off a slight yellow shade on white/light textiles..
The beeswax can be melted onto fabric to make food wraps – an alternative to products such as tin foil and cling film. However, it should not be used for meat and fish. The food wrap is cleaned by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
