A ruffled Hen made from Imitation Fabric on a Birch Disc

This black hen is made from imitation fabric. Two pieces of recycled card are fitted between the two pieces of imitation fabric and all is held in place with pieces of natural hemp through the layers. The hen is then pushed onto a bent stub wire which is attached to a wooden disc.

How to do it

Shorten a stub wire and bend it until it has the correct size for fitting inside the hen. The two wire ends are the hen's “feet”. to be used for mounting the hen onto a stand. Use a hammer for making holes (using the stub wire ends) in the wooden birch disc. Insert the wire ends in the wooden disc and the hen onto the bent wire.
