A decorative Cushion made from a Tea Towel
#v13256
The cover for this decorative cushion is made from a single tea towel, decorated with buttons. Both are from the Vivi Gade Design Series (the Paris collection). The cushion is stuffed with a polyester filled pillow.

How to do it

1. Place the filled pillow on the tea towel and fold it over. Trim the tea towel. (NB: the width of the tea towel is narrower than the width of the filled pillow. This is not a problem. It will only add more plumping to the finished cushion). You may want to save the cut-offs if you wish to sew on ties, rather than sewing the cover together.

2. Fold the tea towel, outer side against outer side. Make a fold along the cut end of the tea towel of approx. 1.5cm. You may want to iron the tea towel. Sew the sides together. Sew along the bottom from both sides, leave an opening for inserting the filled polyester pillow inside the cover at the end.

3. Turn the cushion cover the right side out and iron. Insert the filled polyester pillow and sew the opening together.
