How to do it

1 Cut a 110 cm piece of jewellery wire. Thread four beads (4 mm diameter) onto the jewellery wire using a beading needle and assemble them into a ring. Feed the needle through the first bead and pull the beads together.

2 Feed the needle through the other three beads and tie the two ends together with two or three knots.

3 Tie the beads onto the barrette through the hole and around it as illustrated in the photo (seen from the back of the barrette). Tighten the wire firmly.

4 Continue on the front of the barrette. Thread three small 4 mm beads and one large (5 mm in diameter) bead onto the wire. Push the needle through the
bead on the left as illustrated in the photo.

5 Now thread three small beads onto the jewellery wire and push the needle through the lower bead as illustrated in the photo. Tighten and secure at intervals by sewing underneath the barrette.

6 Now make a flower with one large and seven small beads. On the left side of the flower there are two beads in a line. Push the needle through both beads. Thread two small and one large bead onto the jewellery wire and push the needle through the outer bead. Add another three small beads like in step 5.

7 Make a total of six flowers each consisting of seven small and one large bead. You will need three small and one large bead for every other flower, meaning that each flower always consists of seven small beads.
