Wall hanger with embroidered designs

#v17228

Make your own wall hanging with embroidered designs. You cut out the designs, place them where you want to embroider and sew directly through the embroidery paper. When the designs are finished, the paper is washed away in water, so that only the embroidery remains.

Guide step %d Cut out the illustration you want to use, as shown in the picture.
Guide step %d Remove the paper from the sticker.
Guide step %d Place the sticker where you want and press firmly with the palm of your hand.
Guide step %d The embroidery thread consists of six threads. Divide the thread in half so that each part consists of three threads.
Guide step %d Pull the needle threader through the needle eye and then pull the embroidery thread through, as shown in the picture.
Guide step %d Now pull the needle out with the embroidery thread, as shown in the picture.
Guide step %d Remove the needle threader.
Guide step %d Tie a knot as shown in the picture.
Guide step %d Now insert the needle from the back.
Guide step %d The knot keeps the thread in place.
Guide step %d Now start embroidering with a backstitch. Pull the needle through as shown.
Guide step %d Continue stitching.
Guide step %d The stitches will look like this.
Guide step %d When there is no more thread, the needle is inserted from front to back.
Guide step %d It should look like this.
Guide step %d Pull the needle through one of the previous stitches.
Guide step %d Pull the thread all the way through and cut off the excess thread.
Guide step %d In this example, a running stitch has been used to create a dotted line. This is done by pulling the needle through, leaving an 'empty' space, as shown in the picture.
Guide step %d When the thread is pulled through, it will look like this. Repeat until you have finished the embroidery using the technique.
Guide step %d When you have finished the embroidery, fill a tub with lukewarm water.
Guide step %d Place the fabric in the water.
Guide step %d Soak the embroidery for around 15 minutes. If necessary, use your hands to gently rub away the remaining sticker residue. Allow the embroidery to dry (without twisting the embroidery).
Guide step %d Once the embroidery is dry, it is ironed.
Guide step %d Iron the vlieselinen on the back with the glue downwards (the glue side feels nubby).
Guide step %d Separate the poster hangers so that they look like this.
Guide step %d Take the satin cord and tie a bow, as shown in the picture.
Guide step %d Place the satin cord in the poster hangers so that it follows the small grooves and tie another bow on the other side to fit the desired hanging length.
Guide step %d Place the embroidery in the poster hanger with the bows at the top.
Guide step %d Attach the second hanger and screw it in place.
Guide step %d Cut off the excess satin cord from the bow. Attach the poster hanger at the bottom and your wall hanging is finished.
