Snow globe

Make your own beautiful homemade snow globe with this clear plastic ball, which has a white plastic lid and is completely waterproof. Personalise your shaker globe by gluing decorations to the bottom of the lid and filling the globe with water and perhaps glitter or artificial snow, for example.

Create small figures or decorations that can withstand being immersed in water, such as shrink plastic, laminated pictures, Fimo and Cernit figures, fuse beads and so on. Stick the decoration to the bottom of the lid with a glue that can withstand water – a glue gun is ideal. Then, fill the globe with water and glitter or artificial snow, if you wish. For best results, fill the shaker globe about half a centimetre from the edge, depending on the density of the decoration. Then screw on the lid. You can also decorate the lid with masking tape, for example.

Place your homemade shaker globe on the window sill, shelf, Christmas table – or wherever else you decorate. Here, it will create plenty of atmosphere and joy for both young and old alike, who simply have to shake the globe to see the magic flakes flutter around so beautifully and calmly
