Sea creature soaps

Easily create adorable little soaps shaped like a fish and octopus. The soap mass is melted in a microwave before soap colour is added. The mixture is then poured into moulds where it hardens for one hour.

How to do it
1 Weigh approx. 2 x 50 g soap mass for two fish or octopuses. Use approx. 0.3 g soap colour for light blue and 2 g soap colour for dark blue.
2 Melt the soap in the microwave for around 30 seconds or until the soap has melted. We recommend asking an adult for help because the wax becomes very hot when melted.
3 Mix the two colours one at a time. The soap mass will solidify relatively quickly. If it becomes too stiff, it can be melted again –even after the colour has been stirred in.
4 Stir the colour thoroughly into the melted soap mass.
5 Pour the soap mass into the mould.
6 After cooling for around 1 hour, the soaps can be removed from the moulds. The soaps will be fully hardened after a few hours.
7 If you do not have a microwave, you can melt the soap mass in a water bath in a pan.
