1   Use 2 bandanas for the dress; one for the front and one for the back. Cut off the two opposite corners for 'arm holes' (2 isosceles triangles of 6 cm). Fold and sew a seam. Place the two pieces against each other – outer side against outer side – and sew them together along the two opposite sides. Fold at the top to make a casing on the front and back and sew. For the straps; feed a 100 cm decorative ribbon through each of the two casings.

2   A ruffled edge made from white cotton fabric: Cut a long piece (for example along the selvage in order to prevent having to make a seam) measuring 200 x 14 cm. Gather this piece of fabric to make a 'ring' and sew together. In the opposite of the selvage sew the 'ring' with a large seam. Tighten the seam by hand to make a ruffled effect. Distribute the ruffles evenly and sew the ruffled edge onto the bottom of the dress – outer side against outer side.
