Natural Eggs with Plant Prints – dyed with Silk Royal Colour

Part of a plant is attached to the duck egg, which is wrapped in a nylon stocking and dipped in a water bath with Silk Royal colour, to which vinegar has been added.. The stocking is removed when dry and the contour of the plant parts appear on the egg.
How to do it Download the templates/recipes
1. Place a lightly pressed plant part; i.e. a flower or a leaf, onto the egg. Put the egg inside a nylon stocking and tie a knot. You may also tie a piece of string or rubber band around the egg to make sure that the plant part will stay in place (and it will also add a batik effect).
3. Pour approx. 500 ml boiling water into a clean jam jar. Pour 2 tsp ordinary household vinegar into the water and 5-10 drops of Silk Royal colour (or according to the desired colour strength).
