Patinating Boxes with an Embossed Lid

Boxes with embossed lids are ideal for patinating. The boxes are painted with an A-color matt base colour. A top layer of paint is then rubbed on with a sponge. Alternatively you can use Plus Color craft paint for this technique with great results.

How to do it Download the templates/recipes
1 Paint the papier-mâché box with A-color matt paint. Let it dry. (Alternatively you can use Plus Color craft paint).
2 Rub the second colour onto the box lid with a sponge. Use light strokes, so that the raised areas on the embossed lids are covered with the second colour. Give the box edges the same effect for a patinated look.
