Knot double knots all the way around. Start by knotting string 1 and 4 around string 2 and 3 – and continue for the entire row.
Start 2 cm down and make a staggered double knot. Start with strands 3 and 6 around strands 4 and 5 – and continue for the entire row. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until there are five rows of staggered knots forming a pane pattern.
Make a double knot 3 cm down using strings 5 and 10 around the six strings in between them – and again with strings 11 and 18 around the six strings in between them.
Make double knots 3 cm down the entire row, as in step 3. Make a total of three knotted rows and use the same procedure as in steps 3 and 4.
Make double knots 3 cm down. Start with strings 3 and 6 around strings 4 and 5 – and continue for the entire row. Tip: The first two and last two strings do not get used.
Make double knots around the pot with strings 1 and 4 around 2 and 3 from the left side – repeat with strings 21, 22, 23, 24 from the right side and in the front.
Make a double knot right at the front – as in step 8. The front now consists of four double knots.
Make double knots on both sides of the middle at the same height as strings 3 and 6 around strings 4 and 5. Make the double knot on the left with strings 22 and 19 around strings 20 and 21,
Turn the hanging decoration and make double knots 4 cm below the last row of knots: Knot strings 9 and 12 around strings 10 and 11 – and knot strings 13 and 16 around strings 14 and 15.
Gather the 24 strings together in pairs and make a “Gathering knot” with a piece of string that measures 30 cm.
