Fruit-shaped soaps
#v17026
Easily create adorable little fruit soaps in shapes ranging from grapes and watermelon to apples, strawberries and oranges. The soap mass is melted in a microwave before soap colour is added. The mixture is then poured into moulds where it hardens for an hour.

How to do it

1 Stem: Weigh approx. 30 g soap and approx. 2.5 g lime dye.
Grapes and apple: Weigh approx. 70 g soap and 0.5 g lime dye.
Orange, strawberry and watermelon: Weigh approx. 100 g soap and 3 g mandarin colour.
Grapes and apple: Weigh approx. 70 g soap and 0.5 g lime dye.
Orange, strawberry and watermelon: Weigh approx. 100 g soap and 3 g mandarin colour.

2 Melt the soap in the microwave for around 30 seconds or until the soap has melted. Adult help is recommended because the wax becomes very hot.

3 Mix the green colour for the stems. The soap mass will solidify relatively quickly. If it becomes too stiff, it can be melted again –even after the colour has been stirred in.

5 Pour the dye into the mould and allow to dry for around 10 minutes on the edge of a cutting board so that the green dye does not run into the fruit. If the colour runs into the fruit, it can be easily removed with a butter knife/teaspoon after it has solidified. The soap that has been removed can be reused by melting it again.
