Embroidery frame with an embroidered dandelion

1. Print the template and tape it to the fabric.

2. Place a piece of papier-mâché under the fabric.

3. Dot the pattern onto the fabric with a sharp pencil. If necessary, twist the pencil a couple of times to create clearer marks.

4. Lift off the template.

5. Draw the pattern using a pencil, and place the fabric in the embroidery frame.

6. Embroider flower stems using contour stitches.

7. Embroider the yellow flower heads with flat stitches.

8. Embroider the head pins of the seedling with lock stitches.

9. Embroider seeds on the stalk using French knots.

10. Embroider seedlings under the yellow petals and flat-stitched leaves. Embroider the leaves from the edge of the leaf to the middle of the leaf from both sides – and draw the leaf in the middle with a pencil if necessary.

11. Embroider the root with flat stitches.

12. Use two pieces of yarn for roots.

13. Pull half of the yarn to the back – attach it – and stick the end back to the front.

14. Tighten the finished embroidery in the frame and adjust the position before cutting, if necessary – be careful not to cut the roots. Cut off excess fabric along the edge of the embroidery frame.
