Embroidered Greeting Cards with a Cactus and a Reindeer

These embroidered greeting cards are embroidered with normal cross-stitches using a template. A pom-pom is attached for the reindeer's nose.

1. Sew cross-stitches along the edge.
2. Secure the ends.
3. Continue with cross-stitches following the cactus template.
4. Attach double-sided adhesive tape onto a piece of card for covering the back of the embroidery. Press the two firmly together.
5. Make the reindeer following the same procedure as the cactus but don't attach a piece of card covering the back of the embroidery until you have sewn the pom-pom nose onto the front of the greeting card.
6. Cut out a pom-pom maker using the template. Attach two pieces of mercerised cotton yarn onto the pom-pom maker. Use the two pieces of yarn for assembling the pom-pom and for sewing it onto the front of the greeting card.
7. Wind mercerised cotton yarn approx. 20 times around the pom-pom maker. Lift the two pieces of yarn off the notch on the pom-pom maker, tighten and tie a double knot.
8. Cut open the yarn.
9. Use the two pieces of mercerised yarn for sewing the pom-pom onto the card.
10. Sew on the pom-pom for the nose.
11. Tie a knot on the back and cut off the ends.
