Easy pipe cleaner flowers

Make beautiful everlasting flowers out of pipe cleaners – it’s fun and easy. Wrap the pipe cleaner around a marker to shape the petals and use florist wire as the stem. Finish with floral tape for a beautiful result.

How to do it
1 You will need the following materials to make a flower:
2 pipe cleaners for the petals (the flower itself).
Approx. 7 cm of pipe cleaner for the centre of the flower.
2 pipe cleaners for the leaf.
Florist wire and floral tape for the stem.
A glue gun to assemble the parts.

2 Find a marker or stick with a diameter of 1 cm. Twist a pipe cleaner around it six times. Start approx. 1-2 cm from the end and leave approx. 1-2 cm free at the other end.
3 Replace the marker with a whole pipe cleaner inserted through the rings.
4 Bend the ends of the pipe cleaner in the middle down along a thick floral stem wire.
5 Wrap the short ends of the rings around the thick floral stem wire using the long ends of the straight pipe cleaner.
6 Wrap the entire length of the pipe cleaner around the floral stem wire.
7 Pull out the rings to make petals and squeeze the rings together slightly.
8 Divide a pipe cleaner into four equal parts in the colour that will be used for the centre of the flower.
9 Roll it up like a snail.
10 Finish by bending the last 1/2 cm around it.
11 Glue the centre into the middle of the flower with a glue gun or multi glue.
12 Press the centre into the flower and allow to dry. Bend the petals up around the centre.
13 Make the leaf out of two green pipe cleaners. Start by lining them like a cross.
14 Twist the cross on the two green pipe cleaners one turn in the middle and fold down all four ends. The cross is now the tip of the leaf.
15 Squeeze together the tip of the leaf and shape it so that the four pipe cleaners are next to each other.
16 Take one of the four ends and twist it around the others to gather them together.
17 Curve the leaf slightly and place it next to the floral stem wire so that the tip of the leaf is just below the flower head.
18 Attach floral tape just below the flower head on the floral stem wire. Warm the tape between your fingers and pull it down at an angle to adhere it.
19 Glue the leaf onto the floral stem wire before wrapping floral tape around the end.
20 You are now ready to make flowers in other colours that together can form a beautiful bouquet.
