Easter eggs from papier-mâché pulp with a hole decorated with nesting chicks
SKU: v15884
Make your own hanging Easter eggs from papier-mâché pulp. Model the Easter eggs over a balloon which is then deflated, creating hollow eggs. Paint the inside of the eggs and decorate further with Easter chicks in a sisal nest.

How to do it

1
Mix the papier-mâché pulp in water in the ratio: 3 parts pulp to 1 part water.

2
Inflate a balloon slightly smaller than the size you want your finished Easter egg to be.

3
Cover the balloon with papier-mâché pulp, but leave one section uncovered to create a hole or opening in the egg.

4
Adjust the opening so that its edge is smooth and even.

5
Deflate the balloon.

6
Remove the balloon from the inside of the egg.

7
Paint the inside of the egg with Plus Color craft paint and leave to dry.

8
Attach a string for hanging by making a hole in the top of the egg with a needle and feed the string through the hole.

9
Tie a knot in the string on the inside of the egg.

10
Make a nest from sisal.

11
Place the sisal nest inside the egg.

12
Place Easter chicks in the nest.
