Drawing on Porcelain
#v15083
It's easy to decorate porcelain with markers. Choose from several types of glass and porcelain markers: solid felt tip or pump action paint markers as well as opaque, transparent and glitter. All of our glass and porcelain markers need to be fixed in the oven to make them dishwasher safe.

How to do it

1 Wipe the porcelain prior to decorating to ensure a non-greasy, clean and dry surface. A glass and porcelain contour marker adds character to the decoration and prevents the paint from the pump action paint markers from running (for example on curved items). Leave to dry.

2 Decorate with glass and porcelain markers. Here we have used opaque pump action paint markers with glitter. Leave to dry for a minimum of 4 hours.

3 Fix the decorated porcelain item in the oven. The fixing time in the oven varies depending on your chosen marker – see the next steps.

4 Fixing of glass and porcelain markers with a solid felt tip: Place in a pre-heated oven (not a fan oven) at 160°C . Fix for 90 minutes.

5 Fixing of opaque glass and porcelain pump action paint markers with glitter: Place in a cold oven. Set the temperature to 160°C (do not use a fan oven). Fix for 30 minutes.
