Crepe Flowers on Base
#v16870
Make colourful crepe flowers that can stand on any flat surface. Create the base in self-hardening clay and colour the edges of the petals with the stamp pad and sponge. The flowers can be placed on the dinner table, for example, to add a colourful touch to your table setting.

How to do it

1 This kit contains templates for four flower designs on a clay base.
Cut out the parts for the first flower in Design 3 using the template. Remember to make three flowers of each design, for a total of 12 flowers.

10 Cut off the stems and use the pieces for the next flower design. It doesn't matter if they have different lengths. They should be staggered to create a nice asymmetrical flower stem.

12 Attach the three flowers to the stem using glue and a crepe strip. Cover the stem with glue and twist the crepe paper around it.

18 Pull the flower head down over the stamens and apply a little glue to the stem and bottom of the flower head edge. Squeeze the base of the flower head around the stem, gradually applying more glue if necessary.

32 Carefully shape each flower. Glue the crepe strips onto the stems and then onto the thick stem as with the previous designs.

41 Divide the clay into four pieces and shape the flower bases. Insert the stem into the clay and pinch the clay around the stem. Allow to dry for around 48 hours.

Design 2 Glue the leaves onto the stems and shape the flowers by pulling the crepe paper outwards and bending the stems.
