Guide step %d
1.   Warp the loom with warp threads. Tie a knot at the end of the thread as shown.
Guide step %d
2.   Place the thread with the knot into the groove on the lower block of the loom. Place the loose block approx. in the middle of the loom.
Guide step %d
3.   Warp the warp threads in the grooves of the transverse blocks at the top and the bottom of the loom. NB: the warp thread only goes into every other groove in the block in the middle.
Guide step %d
4.   Continue this process until the entire frame is full. NB: thread fewer warp threads if you want a more narrow, woven section.
Guide step %d
5.   Now pull the thread from the right hand side towards the left and up along the left hand side towards the block in the middle. Now feed the thread forth and back between the empty grooves and the wooden blocks at the top and bottom of the frame.
Guide step %d
6.   Continue this process until the entire frame is filled in.
Guide step %d
7.   Trim the thread as shown.
Guide step %d
8.   Wind the warp thread a few times around the block on the loom and secure it as shown.
Guide step %d
9.   Loosen the wing nuts on each side of the lower block and twist, tightening all the warp threads on the loom. Tighten the wing nuts again. The loom is now ready.
Guide step %d
10.   Weaving with fabric: cut small notches along one side of a piece of fabric.
Guide step %d
11.   Tear the fabric at each notch into narrow strips.
Guide step %d
12.   Tie the strips together at the ends.
Guide step %d
13.   Wind wool onto the shuttles. Now start weaving. Feed the shuttle between the two layers of warp threads from one side to the other.
Guide step %d
14.   Tip the wooden block in the middle so that the warp threads swap place.
Guide step %d
15.   Now feed the shuttle between the warp threads back again to the other side.
Guide step %d
16.   Use a comb to firmly push the woven wool in place, so the woven section becomes tight. Here we have used a wooden comb.
Guide step %d
17.   Tip the block in the middle again (do this every time the shuttle has been fed through the warp threads in one direction).
Guide step %d
18.   NB: when weaving with carded wool, you may add an exciting structure in the weaving by pulling a bit up in the wool's fibres as shown here.
Guide step %d
19.   Weaving with strips of fabric: rather than using the shuttle, this long piece of carded wool is fed through the warp threads using a yarn needle.
Guide step %d
20.   When the woven section is completed, tie all the ends together and secure/hide them as well as possible within the weaving. Trim the ends.
Guide step %d
21.   Loosen the wing nuts at the wooden block at the top and lift off the warp threads. Repeat this procedure at the bottom.
Guide step %d
22.   Tie the loops at the top together in pairs with a knot.
Guide step %d
23.   Cut open the loops at the bottom to make tassels and tie the threads together with a knot in pairs.
Guide step %d
24.   An example of the finished tassels.
Guide step %d
25.   Hang this woven piece onto a branch collected outdoors.
