1. Image-wise projects

1. Image-wise projects

Image-wise is enhanced by projects in which children must use their abilities to perceive, recognise and express themselves within the spatial, real world. This happens through working with clay modelling, mosaics, candle-making, moulding, making sweets, plaster moulding and papier-mâché.

  1. Watercolour Collages
    Inspiration: v15532 Watercolour Collages
A group of Y2 and Y4 school children have made large collages from pieces of torn paper which they have previously decorated with wax pastels and watercolours. The children have swapped the pieces of paper with each other thus using all the scraps of paper (with zero waste). The collages are then personalised with eyes, noses and beaks.

  3. 3D Pictures with a warm Atmosphere
Inspiration: v14890 3D Pictures with a warm Atmosphere
A group of 9-year-olds visited us in our creative workshop. Given the words 'What makes me happy and warm in my heart' the children had to try to express this feeling in a picture. What made them happy had to stand out with a 3D effect. They created very different and personal images. The children painted a background on a canvas panel. Then – with a very fine marker – they drew their designs on white construction card and stuck their cut-outs onto the painted canvas panel using 3D foam pads.

Children's intuitive and spatial intelligence is enhanced by this creative project when working creatively when mixing colours by placing transparent coloured items on top of each other, further mixing the colours. In addition, the children's intuition (intuitive intelligence) is enhanced when experimenting with unfamiliar techniques, tools and materials.

  10. A painted Self-Portrait on a Canvas
    Inspiration: v13643 A painted Self-Portrait on a Canvas
Children's personal and spatial intelligence is enhanced by this creative project when creating self-portraits and when mixing colours. When children depict themselves, they increase their self-awareness (self-wise) – and similarly by reproducing their own skin colour. Children's spatial intelligence is enhanced when mixing colours for the actual skin tone, thus learning how different colours interact with each other.
