Cast small desktop holders with resin casting mix. Simply combine the casting mix with water, stir until smooth, pour into the mould and allow to harden for a few hours. Children as young as 7 years can do this project and the ready-made holders are perfect for holding markers, pencils and trinkets.

How to do it

1   Cut the moulds out of the cardboard box that comes with the kit.

2   Each mould consists of three parts. Join the ends using sticky base.

3   Attach the larger mould to the base using sticky base.

4   Allow the moulds to dry completely before you start casting.

5   Cast the yellow holder into mould no. 1. First make the bottom of the holder by combining 50 g of casting powder with 3 spoonfuls of paint.

6   Combine the powder with 16 g of water.

7   Stir well until the mixture has a creamy consistency.

8   Pour the mixture into the mould.

9   Allow to dry for approx. 10 min.

10   Now cast the edge. Place the inner mould in the middle of the outer mould.

11   Make the mixture for the edge of the holder: 160 g of resin casting mix and 1 spoonful of paint.

12   Combine the mix with around 53 g of water.

13   Stir the mixture until creamy.

14   Place the mould inside the middle of the mould with the moulded base. Now pour in the casting compound.

15   Fill with the compound and allow to dry.

16   After around 60 min., remove the inner mould.

17   Next, remove the outer layer.

18   Now remove the bottom.

19   Cast a blue holder using mould no. 2. Start with the edge by combining 50 g of casting powder with 3 spoonfuls of paint.

20   Mix the casting compound with approx. 16 g of water, adding a little at a time.

21   Stir until a creamy consistency.

22   Pour the mixture into the mould.

23   Allow to dry for around 10 min.

24   Make the mixture for the edge of the holder: 160 g casting powder and 1 spoonful of paint.

25   Combine the casting powder with approx. 53 g of water.

26   Stir until a creamy consistency.

27   Pour the mixture into the mould.

28   Allow to dry for around 60 minutes and then remove from the mould.

29   Remove the mould around the edge.

30   Remove the bottom of the mould.

31   Mix the compound for the red holder. Combine 70 g of casting powder and 3 spoonfuls of paint.

32   Combine the powder with around 23 g of water.

33   Stir until a creamy consistency.

34   Use mould no. 3 for the red holder. Pour the mixture into the mould.

37   Now combine with around 16 g of water.

40   Remove the mould around the edge and then the bottom.
