Christmas decoration made of crepe paper
#v16787
Create classic Christmas shapes in crepe paper – such as drums, pomegranates and rosettes. Cut out the stenciled pieces and glue them together. Finish with gold glitter details and attach ribbons for hanging.
How to do it Download the templates/recipes

1 Pomegranate: Cut the parts using the template – red for the apple and green for the stem and leaves.

4 Glue the crepe paper around the ball – the ends of the paper must be able to reach at one end and there should be excess paper at the other end.

6 Make a slight twist at the end and glue the crepe paper to the ball so that it becomes a small rosette at the bottom of the ball.

8 Shape the leaf by pulling it in the middle around your thumbs. Roll the long strip to make the stem and glue as you roll.

10 Drums: Cut the drum pieces using the template. There is a template for the harlequin pattern and the triangle pattern on the side of the drum.

11 Glue crepe circles at both ends of the cardboard tube. Cut notches around the edge of the circle and glue them flat onto the cardboard tube.

12 Cover the sides of the cardboard tube with strips of crepe paper. Glue on the strips and allow to dry.

13 Glue decorations on the side of the tube. For example, decorate the drum with triangles or red crepe paper windows. Also make triangles with gold string glued to the top and bottom. Place the triangles around every 1 cm.

14 Glue ribbons around the drum on both the top and bottom. Also glue a hanging cord to the top edge.

16 Make sure all of the drum strings are the same size: Place four pieces of string crisscross and use a pencil to mark the end of each string on the drum edge.

17 Apply glue to the marks and allow to dry (approx. 3 min.). Glue two strings on each mark and then glue them together in pairs between the marks on the drum bottom.

20 Fold the paper on the narrow side (1 cm). Fold the entire paper alternately on one side and then the other.

21 Cut 30 cm of gold string and double it. Tie the string tightly around the centre of the folded crepe paper.
