Rapeseed wax candles in jam jars

Make your own candles from rapeseed wax in small jam jars decorated with dried orange slices, cinnamon sticks and natural hemp.

How to do it

Place the rapeseed wax in a bowl and chop it in small pieces. You will need twice as much wax as the size of your chosen jar.

Melt the wax over a water bath at a medium temperature. The melting point of the rapeseed wax is 54-57°C.

Dip the end of the pre-waxed wick with the small aluminium disc in the melted wax. Place it at the bottom of a jam jar. Keep the wick in place with
a clothes peg.

Pour the melted wax into the jam jar. The wax sets after approx. 1.5-2 hours depending on the room temperature and the size of the jar.

Decorate the jar with dried orange slices and cinnamon sticks, tying these around the rim of the jar with a piece of natural hemp.
