A rose Gift Box with a Rosette and Design Paper

Make lovely rose and white gift boxes with design paper and round or heart-shaped rosettes.
Creative idea
How to do it

Cut a 14 x 9 cm piece of design paper to fit the front of the gift box and attach it with double-sided adhesive tape.

Fold the box along the score lines and tie the ribbon through the holes for fastening.

Cut a 7 x 21 cm piece of design paper for a round rosette. Fold it in an 8 mm wide concertina fashion using a thin ruler alternating from side to side.

Tie a piece of cotton cord tightly around the middle of the folded paper. Make sure that the ends are sufficiently long for tying around the gift box several times.

Secure the ends of the rosette with double-sided adhesive tape.

Tie the rosette onto the front of the gift box by wrapping the cord around the gift box several times and tying it underneath the base, thus hiding the knot.

Make a heart-shaped rosette by cutting out two pieces of design paper using the template attached as a separate PDF file on this page.

Assemble the two cut-out pieces to one piece using double-sided adhesive tape.

Fold it in a concertina fashion the same way as folding the round rosette (see step 3).

Make small holes with hole punch pliers in each fold. The holes must be big enough for feeding a piece of cotton cord through.

Assemble the pleated strip of design paper with double-sided paper to form a circle.

Feed the cotton cord through all the holes using a cross stitch needle.

Carefully pull the cord ends together, tightening the paper strip into a heart shape. Tie the cord with a couple of knots.
