A Picture of a nesting Chicken
SKU: v14475
After a visit to a farm and a good chat about life in the chicken coop, among other things, these 4th-grade kids made a joint exhibition with paintings of hens on nests made from raffia ribbon and chicken wire as an extra detail in front of the artwork. This project stimulated the children’s interest in nature in addition to working with new materials in a creative process.

How to do it

1
Draw the outline of the chicken with a pencil on the canvas panel. Paint with Pigment Art School acrylic paint. Leave to dry.

2
Cut a piece of chicken wire which is larger than the canvas panel. Place the chicken wire over the design and bend it onto the back.

3
Push straw into the chicken wire to create the chicken's nest. A TIP: As an alternative to real straw, you may use natural raffia, cut into small pieces.
