How to do it Download the templates/recipes
1 Measure the height of the box adding 2 cm and cut out a hexagon. Cut notches 0.5 cm before each corner.
3 Apply decoupage lacquer to one of the outside sides of the box and attach the fabric. Apply decoupage lacquer onto the next side and attach the overlap. Apply decoupage lacquer to the next overlap and fold it onto the fabric.
4 Apply decoupage lacquer to the side of the box with the overlap. Attach the fabric with the overlap onto the box. Continue like this all the way around the box.
5 Fold the fabric over the top edge of the box. Apply decoupage lacquer onto the inside top edge of the box.
Attach the inside fabric layer onto the inside of the box. Apply decoupage lacquer on top of the fabric and attach the outside layer of the fabric. Continue like this all the way around the box.
6 Measure the inside height of the box minus 1 cm and cut a hexagon from fabric. Cut notches in the fabric 0.5 cm from the corners of the box (see step 1). Fold all the sides by 1 cm and press with an iron. Apply decoupage lacquer onto the folded edges and secure the fold. Trim the excess fabric from the folded points.
7 Apply decoupage lacquer onto the inside of the bottom of the box and attach the fabric. Apply decoupage lacquer onto the insides of the box and secure the fabric, making sure that the folded edge is attached along the top of the box.
9 Measure the height of the box lid, double it and add 1 cm. Cut out a hexagon from fabric. Cut notches in the fabric 0.5 cm from the corners of the box lid (see step 1). Apply decoupage lacquer to all the sides of the lid; the inside as well as the outside, including along the inside edges of the lid. Attach the fabric.
