How to do it

1
Mix water (approx. 28 degrees) and marbling paint in a bowl deep enough to submerge the egg underwater. Shake the pot of marbling paint well before pouring the paint into the water. The paint will settle on the surface instead of mixing with the water. For this mixture, 16 drops of yellow and eight drops of pink have been used.

2
Take a thin stick and gently mix the colours across the surface to make patterns.

3
Avoid excess air bubbles by dipping the egg gently diagonally up and down into the mixture.

4
Leave the egg to dry for about 2 hours depending on room temperature. Do not touch the eggs until they are completely dry.

5
"Remove any excess paint from the water with a piece of paper before dipping the next egg. Then put new paint in the water.
Do not pour water with paint in it down the drain. Remove all the paint with a piece of paper before pouring away the water. If paint gets on the skin, you can remove it with oil."

6
Mount the hanger and string on the egg.

Tip
"Find a pre-cut hole in the bottom of the egg and push it out with the tip of a pair of scissors.
Tip: If you want a hole in the top of the egg, you can burn a hole with the smallest point of an electric burner or a heated knitting needle or similar."
