A woven Heart on a painted wooden Icon Plate

Firmly woven wool around nails, hammered into a wooden icon plate in the outline shape of a heart. The plate is painted with black Plus Color craft paint diluted with water for a transparent look. Non-diluted black Plus Color craft paint for the edges.

How to do it 
1.
Paint the front of the wooden icon plate with black Plus Color craft paint diluted with water, giving it a transparent look.
2.
Paint the edges with non-diluted black Plus Color craft paint. Let it dry.
3.
Print and cut out the template available as separate pdf file for this idea. Draw the outline of the heart onto the wooden icon plate with a pencil. Make small dots along the pencil line at approx. 1cm intervals.
4.
Hammer 15mm long nails into the marked dots along the outlined heart.
5.
Tie the wool with a knot onto one of the nails. Now weave/wrap the wool around the nails in a criss-cross fashion, until the heart design is taking shape.
6.
Finish by wrapping once around each nail along the heart outline. NB: begin and finish at the nail where the wool was attached at the start. Tie a couple of knots and cut off.
