Soak one piece of gauze bandage at a time and model a small potbelly on the wooden figure. Attach several pieces of gauze bandage and let some of the pieces spread around the edge and onto the back.
Shape the gauze bandage into a point, model a substantial beard and use the modelling tool for adding structure to the beard.
Cover the elf's hat with gauze bandage. Let some of the pieces reach around the edge and onto the back. Model creases in the gauze bandage like creases in an elf's hat and model a thick edge on the hat just above the nose.
Make a small bulge under the coat on the back of the wooden figure for the bottom. Model an edge at the bottom of the coat at the back using the technique described in step 4.
Cover the base with gauze bandage but avoid gauze bandage underneath it to ensure that the figure can stand straight.
Cover the entire front and back of the Father Christmas figure with gauze bandage, create a face with space for eyes, but avoid covering the nose.
