A Trivet and Coaster from Cotton Tube Yarn
#v15144
It's quick to knit this trivet and this coaster from cotton tube yarn and No. 8 knitting needles. Cotton tube yarn is heat resistant to warm mugs and pots. A decorative strap from faux leather paper is sewn on. Yarn consumption: 25 g or 50 g cotton tube yarn.

How to do it

1 It's important to knit a test square to test your tension. If there are too many stitches on a 10 cm test square, change to thinner needles and if there are too few stitches, change to thicker ones. Gauge: 10 x 10 cm = 12 stitches and 24 rows (garter stitches on all stitches and rows).

2 Small coaster (10x10 cm):
Cast on 12 stitches and knit plain stitches on all rows (garter stitches) until the knitted piece measures 10 cm. Cast off.
Trivet (15x15 cm):
Cast on 18 stitches and knit plain stitches on all rows (garter stitches) until the knitted piece measures 15 cm. Cast off. Secure the ends on the back.
