A Fimo Modelling Clay Pendant in an Aluminium Wire Frame
#v14025
Both pendants are made from Fimo modelling clay which is hardened in the oven. A flat piece of aluminium wire is glued all the way along the edge. A bead cap is inserted for hanging. An oval jump ring is attached to the loop of the bead cap.

How to do it

1. Roll the clay flat and to the same thickness as the width of the aluminium wire. Use a rolling pin.

2. Print and cut out the template which is available as a separate PDF file for this idea. Cut out the clay shape as precisely as possible.

3. Cut a minimum 10 cm piece of flat aluminium wire. Make a hole in the middle of the aluminium wire for hanging the pendant. Use a hammer and a thin nail for this. Using the same tools, make an indentation of approx. 2-3 mm at the top of the shape.

5. Apply glue along the top edge of the shape. Push the bead cap through the hole in the flat aluminium wire and further down into the small hole in the shape. Push together and leave to dry.

6. Bend and shape the aluminium wire around the Fimo modelling clay shape and cut off the excess wire.

7. Carefully lift away the aluminium wire from the shape. Apply glue to the sides of the shape and attach the aluminium wire.
