How to do it

1 Crochet the Christmas stocking on a No. 35 crochet hook. Find the pattern as an attached PDF file on this page.

3 Make pom-poms by winding the XL chunky yarn 10 times around the pom-pom tool. Tie a piece of sock wool tightly around the middle of the wound bundle of wool and cut the yarn open on both sides. Trim the pom-pom into shape – you may refer to the step-by-step instructions on the packaging.

4 Attach the hook for hanging made from chain stitches onto the top edge by stitching the yarn ends along the edge of the stocking with your fingers. Tie the pom-poms onto the bottom of the hook with a piece of string made from two pieces of sock wool (twist them around themselves and double them over, creating a 4-ply piece of yarn.
